Stop and Smell the Roses

This past semester I took a Visual Book Class with Rebecca Goodale at the University School in Bath, Maine. One of our assignments was to make an 'altered' book.
I used an old red sheet that had been a table covering for my work table in my studio for years. Imagine all the doodlings, messages and drawings that were drawn on the cloth. I constructed these individual roses into miniature books of cloth. The petals open up revealing a haiku relating to gardening at Shaker Village in New Gloucester, Maine.
My cat, Tigger, is always one to stop and smell the roses, or just about anything for that matter!
